Third Prize - 61st Congress of Naval Engineering (2022)
Award: Third prize at the 61st Congress of Naval Engineering and Maritime Industry held in Palma de Mallorca in October 2022.
Project: "Virtual Buoys, a route optimization system based on AI models of ship movement" developed in collaboration with Apoyo Logístico Integrado.
The system infers optimal routes for ships using neural network models and autoencoder-based classification. It optimizes routes based on fuel consumption, emissions, and other criteria including Boil Off reduction in LNG vessels and passenger comfort on ferries.
Third Prize - ActúaUPM Technology Accelerator (2022)
Award: Third prize from the technology accelerator ActúaUPM for the best business plan of 2022.
Business Model: SaaS-based platform enabling ships to save fuel, reduce emissions, and participate in a collaborative network with additional advantages.
The project is participating in several funding rounds and NextGEN, the optimization program of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Honorable Mention - 60th Congress of Naval Engineering (2021)
Award: Honorable mention in the competition at the 60th Congress of Naval Engineering and Maritime Industry held in La Coruña in October 2021.
Project: "Sensorization and Data Monitoring Framework for Navigation" - A system for sensorization and processing of dynamic variables developed in collaboration with Apoyo Logístico Integrado.
Conceived and directed by Fernando Cañavate, the project demonstrates our commitment to innovative maritime technology solutions.
